Outdoor News to Host Deer and Turkey Show in St. Paul
Outdoor News Inc., publisher of locally written fishing and hunting outdoor newspapers in seven Great Lake states, has proudly announced that it will host the inaugural Outdoor News Deer and Turkey Show in February 2016. See the best showcase of Minnesota bucks under one roof Friday through Sunday, Feb. 26 to 28 at the upgraded Warner Coliseum on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in St. Paul."
Minnesota deserves a top-notch deer event, and the Outdoor News staff aims to deliver the best whitetail show the state has ever seen," said Rob Drieslein, company president. "We view the event as an opportunity to highlight the best bucks from 2015 and celebrate the fantastic deer hunting culture that defines our state's outdoor lifestyle. Above all, it's going to be fun."
Headlining the family-friendly event are Minnesota-based TV hosts and expert deer hunters Pat and Nicole Reeve of The Outdoor Channel's Driven TV. Other confirmed speakers include popular Outdoor News columnist Gary Clancy as well as hunter and shooting aficionado Ron Spomer, host of Winchester World of Whitetails. Bowhunter Magazine equipment editor and regular Outdoor News columnist Tony Peterson will offer archery seminars, and Twin Cities-based Melissa Bachman, host of the Winchester Deadly Passion TV show, also will bring her upbeat hunting message to attendees as a headlining seminar speaker.
Other attractions include free antler scoring by the Minnesota Official Measurers, with entry into the show's top buck contest, which will award ribbons and a gift card to the top entry in each category. Attendees also can view some the greatest whitetails ever taken in Minnesota, including the Kreidermacher buck of 2013, or participate in a National Wildlife Turkey Federation-sponsored turkey calling contest. The Outdoor News Wild Trails Kids Zone will have opportunities for youth, including an archery and pellet range, plus laser shot, and a trout pond.
